Backlash wasn't the problem. Loose pinion race was and by the time you buy the bearings, syncros, and get a good case, it's just better to buy a rebuilt transmission. At least that's what I thought when I ordered a trans from Whaletail in January. Might just end up getting one from the States! Can't say that I'm really impressed!

Looks like it's going back in the garage this weekend. Have some parts to install

I hate to break it to ya but he ain't no mechanic .. and he is a one man operation now .. I would suggest calling him and finding out who is doing the work ...

Got the old girl out of storage today and put about 350 km on her, mostly in the rain. Man, I love my car! Gonna be tough to see her go.

I guess I'm "on the road" since I have it here at work with me. Its been a long couple of months and more money than I find amusing, but it is running like a top now.
I plan to drive it to work once a week, maybe more in the summer time. Friday evening stop and go with the top down Yea Baby!

Scott.

Both engines will go with the car - no time to rebuild the old one right now, unfortunately. Or fortunately, depending on how you look at it!

I was reflecting today that, in terms of driving days, this has been the shortest winter since I bought that car. It's never seen the road during March, barely even April. It went away the first week of December (and only that early because we were going away on vacation) and came out after the 3rd week in March. Not bad!

Christien, what are you selling? Is there a FS thread or is it in classifieds (which I can't see...). Just curious.

Not a rennlist member so I'm not allowed to post for sale ads here. My 911 is up for sale, because I want to move into a 3.2 cabrio. Drover her again another 150km this morning - even with crappy heat, it's so nice to be driving her again!

Just brought her out of storage! What a great feeling to move back into the Porsche after driving a LS400 for the past few months. I'm psyched for the weekend drive I have planned...

We used to have an 92 ES300. For a car that old, they really are spectacular, aren't they? I miss that car - you could cruise for hours on the highway no problem, great sound system, everything you could want for comfort.

Got the car out of storage yesterday and drove it home 65 km. I'm impressed how everything works perfectly, even after sitting for 6 months.

It was like getting my birthday present a month early.
