There are no duties on car or motorcycle parts, no matter where they are made; just PST and GST.

Good catch! I forgot that the tax they charged included the other items I purchased, so the tax on the porsche parts only would be $50.80. That was based on CAD$390.86 (they used a different exchange rate than I was charged on my credit card).

I used to buy those to have a car pass a safety when I sold it and when I used to be a student.

There are reasons why I no longer buy those.

Sonnen rocks, I've ordered from them a few times now. Prices WAY lower than our local dealer, shipping by US post so I only pay GST on pickup, and with the dollar close to par you can't lose.

Funny enough I just received my first order from Sonnen about 20 minutes ago! I tried them based on Zookie's recommendation here (thanks man) and I am very satisfied.

I like using PET to build up a list of the parts I want and the Sonnen site is great, as you enter each part number and it confirms the price straight away. I actually found them cheaper than PP for my particular basket of items. Plus, ordering from a dealer removes the question of whether it really is OE or not.

Certainly not cheap. CA$135.83 vs US$69.50 for a Bosch distributor cap.

They also claim "No Duties". There are no duties on car parts ordered from the US, no matter where they are made.

I've heard so much about Rock Auto, I decided to check them out.

For example, maintenance items for my 993, (PP= Pelican Parts)

Mahle OC229 oil filter: US$9.68; PP US$13.00
Mahle OC213 oil filter: US$10.53; PP US$14.00
Mahle KL21 fuel filter: US$14.93; PP US$20.00
Mahle LX459 air filter: US$14.77; PP US$18.50

Bosch distributor cap: US$57.79; PP US$71.50
Bosch distributor rotor: US$24.89; PP US$31.75
