Gran Turismo 5 Delayed
By Tom Ivan

January 13, 2010

Sony has delayed the planned March release of PS3 flagship racer Gran Turismo 5.

The Polyphony Digital developed title had been due to launch in Japan on March 31, the final day of Sony’s fiscal year, with a western launch expected shortly after.

However, Sony has now delayed the game’s release to an unspecified date, citing production-related matters, reports Reuters.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe told our sister site CVG that Gran Turismo 5’s delay is "only applicable for the Japanese market" - the only territory where the game had been given an official release date.

“SCEE will announce the launch date for this game in the PAL territories in due course," a rep said.

SCEE announced yesterday that over one million downloads of the GT Academy Time Trial demo had been recorded in the three weeks since it went live on December 17, 2009.
