Local Porsche appraisal

Good question. Only time I ever had to do this was when I had a 78 911. I looked up an appraiser in the yellow pages if i'm not mistaken. He basically looked the car over, took some detailed notes about condition on a standard 100+ inspection form, went home did some research and finally gave me an approximate value.
Did you ask the dealer or your mechanic? I would be curious as well. You never know how much the insurance will screw you for if anything should happen.

My insurance recommended someone local that they accepted. The cost was $200. If you need I can look up his coordinates although I am in Montreal.

I just had Allan Lewis from Vintage Car Collection to do mine. 1-888 319-3321 His cost is $175 + gst. I am waiting for his report which should be in this week. I appreciated his professionalism and knowledge.

guys...he is in Ottawa, so a local TO guy is not gonna drive to Ottawa for the appraisal. as others have said should cost about $175...look on PAVE website for Ottawa person
I found Open Road Motorsports
1525 Allen Road
Mountain, Ontario
K0E 1S0
613-864-9706
this is about 1 hour from Ottawa
you want to have a properly qualified appraiser so that in the event of a loss your vehicle is properly documented. not all appraisals are equal.

Hey Walt - long time no see! Hope you enjoyed the holidays.
I had Glenn at Open Road do my insurance appraisal. At the time, we were in Barrhaven, and he made the trip out to see the car at my place. Don't recall what I paid, but he did up a nice document with pics and a full report.

Isn't your car hibernating at the moment??

Yes she is. Sleeping soundly. I'm going fix up a couple imperfections this winter and then put her back on the road in the Spring. It should be perfect then. I also want to look into 19A. After 5 years of just PLPD I think I should insure her for what she's worth. Just in case. you never know.
