I am not a lawyer or a legal expert but those are two way different things. If I recall correctly the law sees the two much differently. You can be arrested for one but not the other. Much like murder.......

What about all the people already convicted - will they have their convictions thrown out too? The cases that are on going are one thing, but there were people who pled guilty, or did not fight the charges. Will there be a restitution of funds they have spent on lawyers, on impound fees, on the towing bill and on the fine payment itself? Most likely NO to all of the above. Governments are fast off the mark getting money out of its citizens and even doubling fines, (see income tax act) yet when THEY cause real damages and real harm and hardship to people (left at the side of the road with no car hundreds of miles from home) they seem to feel they are ABOVE punishment.
Is there ANY judge in this country who has the ***** to ORDER the Government to refund ALL costs back to the 15,000 thousand people involved to date? No, because the judges are paid by the government.
Just the other day - in an ongoing case in Hamilton, a JP is himself in court over 'fixing' a speeding ticket for a provincial judge. 1. The Provincial judge should lose his job as well because he KNEW what was going on – yet he isn’t in trouble – the JP is. 2. This JP is an EX HALTON COP. Now who in their right mind thought giving an ex cop a job as a JP was a good idea? Aside from the fact they 'appear' to have a bias towards people from their former profession - this guy is going to come up against so many people he knows such as crowns and former fellow officers that you would think it makes it impossible for court services to work around his conflicts - if he admitted to any that is.
The whole structure of our court system has to change. We’ve got Government creating laws and then at the same time two elected people in the cabinet who ‘instruct’ the police (Solicitor General) and the court systems (Attorney General) how they are to do their jobs. Of course these people decide how the police/court system works with an eye on politics and how their party ‘looks’.
Every time we have a long weekend OPP radar orgy, (instructed by Queens Park) police groups loose hundreds of hours of lost investigation time on other cases because they are instructed from the top that it is 'all hands on'. The dirty side of these 'crack downs' that the Government does not want to talk about in the press is the half million they make in fines that goes straight into the general revenue fund every long weekend. They don't want us to slow down - we're paying for their stupid spending!!! Same with smoking - if everyone quit they would have to raise taxes and it's why smoking will always be legal even though it kills more people then drunk driving and speeding COMBINED. Government math at work.
Want to overthrow Government? Stop speeding, stop drinking, stop smoking, no more Rama and stop buying loto tickets! But we are our own worst enemies and they know it.

Seems to me that a guy on a 10 speed will be passing us at that point.
They can't get their costs under control so they want to lower the speed limits to the point where they know that 100% of the population can't possibly follow them thereby creating more ticketing revenue. The Maifa could learn a thing or two from this group!!

Time to get a helicopter, have Fantino board it and transport him out of Ontario permanently. He is an egotistical, blustering,self-important blabbermouthed bully. The law is laughable. Imagine hacing a phrase like "stunt driving" in the law. What's next? Slouching while waking?
