Exterior camera rig
I can't wait to get my hands on this. The setup is comprised of one main 6" cup with two tie down rods connected to two 4.5" cups. It's going to allow for some really great (and safe) exterior footage. I'll post some test shots once I receive it.
For audio, I have an external mic that'll be mounted inside the car to reduce the wind noise.

I managed to get out this morning to hook up the new camera rig on the roof of my car. The shotgun mic was wired into the cabin. i didn't really plan for it properly so it was just dangling around the rear-view mirror (hence the crappy quality and occasional click, pop and boom as it bounced around).
Overall I think the rig held up really well considering how bumpy those roads were. I tried stabilizing the footage in post but I think it's better without it - feels more connected.
For better quality click the "HD" button on the player.

Here's a little more HD footage (no audio this time) from a few different angles. Looking forward to the big track this Thursday to get some REAL footage.
