I totally agree with everyone. I like the old wheels better! LOL

I am so enjoying this entire scenario. This is the eye opener that this stupid unconstitutional law needs. I hope a lawyer that wants to make a name for themself challenges this law now that it is in the spotlight getting this negative press.

From an article in the Star concerning mismanagement in the office of chief coroner.

"In 2005, Young was squeezed out of the Ontario bureaucracy, according to government sources. Julian Fantino’s contract was not renewed as Toronto police chief and there was talk he was going to run in the next election for the provincial Tories. To thwart that, the Liberal government gave Young’s job as commissioner to Fantino".

So flash forward as per usual, Fantino keeps his eye out for his next movement upward and always wanting to be the top cop in the province, soon makes it known he'd take the job if it were 'open'. Lot's of back room politics take place and hint's again of running for the Tory's, (wonder how many times you can use that?) and when the then current OPP boss stumbles over the Caledonia issue - quicker then you can say 'Lone Ranger' she is right sized and Fantino becomes top cop.

His history on every police force even when a junior cop starting out in Toronto has been, shall we say controversial here and there. Does he really hate lawyers believing them to be nothing more then criminal support systems? Thats been suspected in some of his public statements. He has slammed part of the court system as being easy on the criminal yet when pressed cannot give specific examples of such actions.

The long and short of this is; his 'personal' beliefs and a bill of goods sold to the Liberal cabinet that this 50K over and stunting law were going to cut down on 'racing' and 'dangerous operation' of vehicles has fallen flat on it's face. The cabinet were shown a nicely painted picture of drag races on public roads shut down - crazy drifters and motorcycle wheelie freaks all being stopped in their tracks. They were told that that these activities were 'out of control' and the final straw was a trucker losing control of his rig near Barrie and dieing after being cut off by two guys racing.

Funny thing was - these two have been convicted and sent to jail under the ordinary Criminal Code violation of Dangerous driving! Where is the problem here?

Fantino wants the public to believe we are all safer because of his amendments to the HTA and so far he has been proven wrong on this. Ok, so what if there is this messy little issue of constitution rights at stake? So what if his leadership leads to 'abuse' on the roads by a few rogue cops? It's just part of his war on criminality we're told and in all wars there are innocent victims. Funny how he won't take on the mob in his own backyard of Woodbridge... Guess he likes to pick 'easy' wars.

Democracy can be messy and slow and inconvenient to people like Fantino, but it's what separates us from autocratic rule as per like several central American countries. Might is right until the Premier has had enough of him and word is that has already happened and his days are numbered. There will be no more, 'find him a job' tactic's.

Even the Tory's are loath to run him as an MPP after his rather dumb public dust up with a few senior OPP officers recently so we may find him trying out for Mayor in Vaughn. They can have him. A messy trial in Brampton may convince the Province to go back to the good old days of having your day in court without unreasonable delay and confiscation of your assets. I'll take an unbiased judge any day over someone with tow operator's on speed dial.

We should set up a discussion board for those who want Fantino gone from any office. Let everyone in Ontario who thinks he's an idiot have a chance to post why they think that. It would most certainly get some press time.

+1
We should have a list of all the idiots in government that need to return to their villages.
I'll start:

1- Julian Fantino - Head OPP mobster -'nuff said.
2- Dalton Mcguinty - Ontario Premier - the douche that put Fantino in place
3- David Miller - Mayor of TO - hates cars, gives all our tax money to his TTC and police services union buddies
