A few cops I know say the best is a dog.

The B&E cops who investigated a few of my neighbours breakins recommend a dog. Best sytem out there as thieves tend to move on as they don't need the hassel of a dog going after them ... it even works chasing off the alarm company salesmen who won't take no for an answer. 94# of Thor growling ... he left ...

Leave a dog dish and a lead attached to a tree or post in the front yard with a beware of dog sign will keep them at bay.

I would like to let everyone know that Alarm Force is a great security provider. Both of my parents are far into their retirement and their age seems to be holding them back. They have difficulty walking up and down the stairs and have little to no means of protecting themselves. Unfortunately, their next door neighbor’s home has recently been broken into so I decided to purchase them a security system. The representative gave me a perfect package deal where the system was thoroughly explained to my parents and they could call a representative at any time for more assistance. Above all, it is great knowing that I don’t have to worry about their safety since they are finally protected and secure in their home.
Thank you Alarm Force!

I use Chubb Security. I pay $18.00 per month and I own the equipment in the house. They monitor smoke ,heat, low temp, carbon monoxide and security. We are away for long periods of time during the winter and my insurance company accepts the low temp monitoring for furnace failure.

TMC $12 month and they do everything the others do, and even do it for others who charge more.

ADT with the smoke monitoring, low temp, direct to ambulance, remote control to set/disarm from the car, etc. I went for more than the basic system, but it's kinda like buying a car - the options can add up pretty quick (smaller/less obvious contacts for the wireless system, "better" remotes, 2-way voice, etc.)

ADT, K9 and H&K. The real triple-bottom line

In all seriousness though, we've had ADT for some time now and am happy with their monitoring, and their installers arn't bad except the lazy gomers who came the first time put the sensors on the suboptimal side of the wall. Corrected at their expense though.

I use the "empty house" and just "move in no furniture" setup to deter the burgulars. The samurai sword helps too lol

I set up exploding incendiary devices all around the place, works great except when we forget to disarm and have a false alarm.

I had Alarm force at my business, but when I moved it, Reliance was already set up so I went with them.
Same s##t, different smell.
I think I will go back to Alarm Force when my contract ends because I miss the guy in the box who talked to me when I was lonely ......
