Bergamasco:

I guess I should also let you know ... dealer at woodbridge charges $75 for each spring kit (1 required per caliper). Quick price check at Suncoast shows $20 for set of fronts.

Call Colourfast in concord - they specialize in powder coating and that's all they do.
905-660-3454 ask for Joseph. Tell him the guy who just got his exhuast tips done in black sent you.

Calipers and rotors on the car. Took these with Nikon 60mm macro lens. Thanks to zeckhausen.com for the caliper rebuild kit, George @ Raptor Racing for the powdercoating service and folks at EU Autowerks for the install.

Can you tell the difference or did you already pay for the powdercoating?

I'm going with high temp enamel out of a rattle can. A lot of my stuff (steel) gets powdercoated and it's really nothing special. Usually a polyester paint that gets baked at 400 deg C. The powder gets attracted to the negatively charged part and when heated flows( sort of) into the nooks and crannies of the part. With calipers they really should be disassembled with the pots masked. Min charge $ 250. IMO not worth it. Rims on the other hand, hmmmnn.

I was dumb enough to try taking the calipers off and using brake caliper spray paint. I wanted a factory look. Tried to get into every nook and cranny. It didn't work too well. I ended up sending them off to the states to have them powdercoated. They came out great. FYI these guy's are great.http://htcracing.com/ Got the color, lettering size and alignment perfect.

+1
if done properly you can't tell the diff between factory and painted.
and you don't need to replace the seals.

I am in the process of doing mine (2 fronts done, 2 backs this weekend). The Dupliclour kit has worked very well so far and you dont need to take them off etc etc (and its brushed on, not sprayed)

At least this didnt devolve into name calling. When I was searching some previous threads on how to do this, several times these discussions turned into almost fist fights ("I will meet you anytime anywhere!!") about poseurs, fake "big reds" etc. Lifes too short. I like them on my all black cab but to each his own.

Thanks
