Default My new toy - joined the 911 world

After the official unveiling yesterday at the GTG - I can finally post about my latest aquisition. After a long, on again - off again search for a 911 - I finally pulled the trigger on a 964.

"Modern" features on the classic shape. I'm pretty pleased so far.

Best part so far was driving to the GTG - waiting at a light and realizing.. that killer 911 sound I was hearing - was ME! : )

It's a bit of a project, lots of little niggling problems and will probably need an engine rebuild sooner than later - but the price was very fair and it's the right "first" 911 to learn about.

The 944S2 will probably be relegated to track duty and drum kit hauling, but it's too sentimental a car to sell - so for now - I've got that terrible predicament - which Porsche do I drive today?? : )

Welcome and nice colour. Did I see you on Bayview on Friday morning? I'm bringing mine back from cold storage tomorrow.

Not me on Bayview - but congrats on getting your car out! Would love to get together and compare rides. White IS a great colour!

We should get Clif out too! I wonder if there are enough 964's in TO to do a one-off GTG. OR just coordinate to all meet at the Chapters GTG one Saturday.

There are more 964s around now. I'll get to the GTG after I do the brakes next week. It would be good to compare notes on mechanicals etc.

AWESOME!!! Congrats! I love the colour combo!

I remember when I had the boxster and having to choose, hmm, which Porsche to drive today? It's a tough life! (I never really had that choice with the 944 because my 944 was a bit of a basket case!)

Can't wait to see it in the flesh!

.. dirty engine gumble grumble .. had leaves in it .. how dare he show up with leaves in the engine ...

Absolutely fantastic score Robinson .. I would just clean it up and have a blast . Sounds like it has a lot more life left in it. If your oil usage isn't that high I wouldn't even worry about it ...

Congrats ..

Yes, it's a great looking car, I think your going to have fun with it.

So I heard you working on a deal for cup rims - did you confirm those as well?

That car is the biggest heap of junk this side of Germany. Terrible colour scheme, and those seats are way to cushy and luxurious for a Porsche. And how about making that decision on which Porsche to take...did you come up with that yourself....lol

I can't remember the exact wording of my comment to you at lunch a few weeks ago, but something to the effect that you don't actually have a real Porsche (referring to the S2...it was a joke. I love the S2.), but you certainly took it to heart. Good thing I didn't make a comment about a Countach or a private jet.

Congrats...and by the way, great negotiating!
