Default "Minor Service" cost for 997 C4S

Bought the car last year and will need to have the "minor service" done as specified by Porsche. This will be its first service and the car has about 13KMS on it.

wondering what Downtown Porsche and Pfaff charge for a typical "minor service"

Check with the dealer to what minor service involves. I would think you would need an oil & filter change and a check over with the car. Most independent shops would go over your car like a tech inspection for about 30 minutes of labour including the oil change.

My 996 C4 had her annual service earlier this week, and the total with taxes came to about $480. I had a coupon for 15% off parts/labour, but that didn't add up to much of a deduction on this job.

What did they do beyond the oil change?

"Yearly service including oil change and inspection", plus the replacement of the marker bulb in the passenger-side headlight.

A bit more for an oil change than I'm used to with the Vettes at Mr. Lube ....

I would think at 13K km and only 1 year old, all it needs is an oil change. I did my own as it was very easy.

The extra $200 you paid was for the car wash, just hope they didn't scratch up your paint when the washed it.

I'm sure I will get hosed on the service cost and it probably only needs to have a simple oil change, but want to make sure the car has proper service records if I ever come to sell it. Plan to service it at the dealer until the warranty runs out and then over to the independents

Sounds like I'm looking at around $500. Anybody with specific experience at Downtown on a 997?

996 or 997 is the same: read codes, visually inspect everything, change oil + filter, pay $500. Thank-you.

Keep your receipt for purchase motor oil, receipt for change oil etc. Should be just as good as service record. For the dealer price, you can do it twice the frequency over the year.
