Default 996 X51 oil pan

My new oil pan came in.
No more will the oil sway back and forth as if it were like the ocean.

Hey Jumper,
A sweet looking piece of fabrication. Here's to no motion in your ocean. Just remember the tide level

Any pics of the old one for comparison? It certainly is shiny.

It holds an extra 1/4 liter or so?

Not yet. Having it bolted on today.
It doesn't hold any more oil. There is a deep sump spacer that you could install but it still doesn't help the oil starvation problem when cornering.

Here is the old pan, no baffles.

The black piece is plastic and the X51 pan does weight a bit more.

When I say baffles these are the baffles. I was confused at first thinking it was the rubber flaps.

It looks like it may prevent 1/4 liter from moving from one side to the other. The hole openings are slightly higher with the x51 pan

Good move Greg, I don't think plastic stands up too well when exposed to petrolium products over the long haul,... it usually becomes brittle.... time will tell tho.

I like this mod... some have even put alum doors with hinges to replace the rubber ones.

Yup I saw Chad's post doing that. Though after looking at my nearly 8 year old pan the plastic and rubber are perfect. So I am not to worried about it.

yeah... I like how these rubber flaps are normally open as opposed the to the hinged setup which are normally closed.... since the oil filler nozzle is outside of the baffles, oil can freely fill the baffled area. With the hinge setup, the weight of the oil has to push the flap doors open to get into the baffled area.

drain the oil first, other then that it is simple.
