Sebring Race - Forza 2
Well it was a beautiful day for racing down in Florida, the sun was shinning, blue sky, with just a few white fluffy clouds ... I got some practice in this morning ... and felt fairly confident going into this race (25 Laps around the full Sebring track)
Starting Grid:
Pole: pongobaz - Phil
CDN_Wolf_eh - Mark
C6SUMMER - Claus
DigitalPZ - Peter
Jumper5836 - Greg
We all got off to a pretty good start ... but the Vette's ended up getting pretty close together, all trying to get the best line into turn 1.
But we ended up going 3 wide through the turn! :ack:
As we came down to the esses ... Phil had the lead, and Claus was close on his heels, and I was coming up fast behind Claus ... Peter and Greg were behind me, but I had no idea how close Peter Was! :lol:
So now let`s listen in on IMSA Racing Radio ... Live ...
Mark: Hey Peter, I think your getting a little close there buddy!
Peter: Don`t worry Mark, it`s all good, I got everything undercontrol!
Mark: OK ... I trust ya buddy ...
Mark: Hey Pete ...
Peter: Ya Mark ...
Mark: Well, I really feel like your getting a bit too close ...
Peter: Naaa, it`s just your imagination
Mark: OK ... well I`ll trust you on this one, but I gotta warn ya, I`m going to be braking soon.
Peter: Sure Mark, what ever floats your boat, I can deal with it! ...
Mark: Hey Pete, I think I felt a little bump there ...
Peter: Ya, well I noticed that all of your brake lights were on a bit bright there, so I thought I would help you dim them a little bit ...
Mark: Oh, gee thanks! That was really thoughful of you, I also noticed that you helped get rid of my rear window as well! Now I`m getting better AC,
Peter: Just here to help Mark!
Mark: Wow, it feels like my car is getting a little light, hmmmm ... yep, I`m losing steering control ... you OK back there Pete...
Peter: Fine, you just do what you gotta do ...
Mark: OK, well I think I`m just going to try a slightly different line, and see how good that impact barrier is designed and constructed ... It looks pretty solid, but I just want to be a 100% sure.
Peter: OK Mark, You know, I think you dented my hood when you decelerated into the front of my car ... and I think there`s smoke comin out of the back of my car now! That should slow Greg down a bit!
Mark: Good Job Pete, we need every advantage over Greg we can get!
Mark: Hey Pete, I`m almost to the wall, I think I`m going to be OK!
Mark: Darn, spoke to soon...

Further into the Race, Peter was challenging Phil for 3rd place ...
But he ended up going a bit wide ...
Here we see the Helicopter getting a nice ariel shot of my slightly damagd car ...
I tested out the Tire Barrier at `Sunset Bend`, which is the final corner before the pits, and the front straight ...
And from this shot, you can see where the Corvette Corral is located during the AMLS 12 Hours of Sebring Race ...
But he ended up going a bit wide ...

Here is the crash that prevented us from a First and Second place Porsche Win.
Trouble Started after Claus hit the curb and swerved to the other side of the track
corrected it and fished tailed
Wonder what Phil is thinking now.
Getting pretty close to those tires!!
I see the spin I don't even know what to do at this point
The crash
Phil in the back seat. Wait Vettes don't have back seats!
I brake hard but end up hitting Phil
Phil is Airborne so it doesn't even leave a mark when I hit.
Phil's rear bumper is torn off and Mark comments on the large piece of debree on the road.

You may have even come 3rd if they repaired your car. Instead you continued on with a screwed up car. I think I would have turned around and went and tried to get back to the pits
