Default 2009 PCA DE's...who's signing up?

I just registered for the first two DE's in May...made me feel better to think about track season on this frigid day.

There's a group of at least 5 of us (maybe 6) from Rennsport Region coming down for the May 30 event and then I think quite a large contingent is planning to be there in July ...

Too bad UCR is not coming up to Calabogie this year ... :-(

I will sign up for all the Mosport events this year but with the new baby arriving April 5 I am not sure that I will attend all the days...would love to.

I am using firefox here, and cannot figure out how to sign up. I see the different events listed under DE on the PCA UCR site, but cannot find how to select them. Are there supposed to be boxes for check marks beside the events, or something to click on?

Help please!

It works with Firefox, but are you at least at "yellow" level? If yes, then if you follow the steps on the right hand side once you select: drivers education>sign up for driving schools>step 2 sign up for Track or Skidpad. the events will be listed with check boxes to select. If you're new to DE's and haven't done the IDS or are still green level, then you can't sign up for DE's yet.

i can't belive the website is smart enough to know your driving level based on when you log in . It would be awesome , but they just aint there ... i see that whole website going away soon , it is pretty pathetic by todays standards.

Clive, tell them that. I'd be interested to hear what they say. My experience with suggestions to UCR for improvements, even when solicited, has not been great.

As for UCR DEs, I think I may do a couple this year. Despite the low track time, I really need some coaching on my driving, and I think it's a good place to get some. Would be nice if I could pick my instructors, though, because I've had a couple really crappy ones. (though I should say I've had many many more good ones than bad ones - just a few bad apples)

I'm sure that UCR would listen to anyone volunteering to take over and improve the web site as Peter is retiring. So here's your opportunity.

here's the inside scoop on the website: Peter does it free but gets to use/sell the banner ads. The UCR website has won best website manhy years in a row. When you log in it knows what level driver you are. A new webmaster is taking over (Otto) and the site is being redone in a facebook/ social network type style.
Christian: you can request a specific instructor ahead of time. Suggestions are heard and if they make sense they will be implemented. ie. weekday de was tried last year.

I'd really like to drive Mosport this year ...

Mosport and Mid-Ohio are the new tracks I want to drive.
Will have to go back to the Glen ... and of course there is Tremblant and Calabogie.

How much tear-and-wear can I expect from a full day of DE? I have done my IDS last year and had loads of fun. But really hesitant about continuing this year. Worry that I have to spend a lot to cover the tear-and-wear.

Appreciate any input & comments.
