Default Raising Garage Door Track Pics...

I had my garage door tracks raised last week and a Jackshaft opener installed. Pretty slick set-up!

This is just the first step in the "makeover". The house is brand new In the Spring I will re-mud all of the drywall seams, paint, epoxy the floor and add my lift and cabinets along the back wall...and the video surveilance that has already been prewired And for those thinkng..."man, that is a small garage". It's actually 18 x 20 and is for "my" cars only. All of the "stuff" goes on the other side of the wall in a separate bay...

Mark, was this very hard to do. I think it's a great idea and would like to do this to my garage. Where is your new home?

We're in Oakville. Although I didn't do the work myself, I know others who have and it certainly isn't all that difficult. The only part that worried me was working with the spring as it can be very dangerous if not handled properly. In my case, we replaced all of the tracks, drums, cables and spring. Total cost with labour was $700 and the opener was $500 installed. It took one guy about 4 hours to do that first door. It comes with a slack cable detector, overhead light and an electric deadbolt. I also had all of the doors weatherstripped and put belt drive openers on the other two doors.

Actually, the Porsche stays outside

i guess you needed a new motor or some stronger springs since it has to work harder to raise de door right?
