It's probably not going to snow for another month or more, no sense driving around on snow tires. Takes about 1 hour to do two cars, so it's not much work. Hell, I change tires on the 911 when it rains.

I had a 91 Sable GS for a few years. Loved that front light bar and the split front row bench seat. Shame the transmission died on it.

Back to the topic - tried getting the snows on yesterday but ran out of time. Will be on by the weekend, then new oil, valve adjustment, maybe tranny flush and a squirt of anti freeze in the door key holes and she's good to go!

Okay. I gotta ask. What's your theory on this one? It's just going to dry up and leave a residue.
I'd use the graphite stuff or white grease

I was flipping through the Winterization section in Adrian Streather's bible on the 964 and it stated that a drop or two wouldn't hurt.

Actually he said, leave the doors unlocked if you can and don't keep your key in your pocket. It'll be warm and when in contacts the keyhole it could snap off.

Sounds all very drastic. My issue is the little tiny steel cover that slides out of the way of the lock when you insert your key is missing, so I though the anti-freeze mightn't be a bad idea. You think it'll dry up and leave a mess?

I can't even think of snows today or for all of next week for that matter. If weather predictions are correct. It is going to be a great Porsche weekend and week.

Snows went on the C4S Tues. Was going to drive the TT today but I didn't look at the forecast and left it in the garage. Another mistake to add to the list. The C4S will go all winter. Got it for a good price in the US and want to smile every time I get in a car. Life's too short. Not that I want it to snow, but I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what the C4S is like. TT's drives are probably getting numbered before winter siesta time.

Tires and rims are 'in the mail'. For the first time ever I have decided to get new tires and not buy used but damn that stuff can get expensive.

I hear ya. I bought Used snows on BMW 17" rims for $550. Lasted 2 winters. Last year I replace just the tires for $1,100. Ouch!

I just put my wife's winters on yesterday. I am looking at a set of second hand rims with 1 season old Dunlop winter tires on them tomorrow for my Audi. I hope they are nice.
