Snow today. Anyone put thier winter sneakers on?

I had winter tires put on at autowerks this morning - along with my fancy B&M sport shifter and rennline pedals.
Now my shifting times will be so much faster as I drive 20 km through the snow (that we will eventually get)

I drove the RX-7 today becuase the exhaust came apart on the A4 and it sounds like a truck. It was a bit hairy driving home tonight. It was snowing up here.

You've got an AWD 997 and you're putting it away for winter? You're crazy! Drive that thing all year!
That building in your avatar looks familiar - is it Pall Mall St?

Yesterday, Autowerks, Snows and an A6 2.7T ready for anything Mother Nature has. I can't wait for it to snow.
If only Audi made a plow for the A6.. I could work to clear my neighbour's driveways on weekends for extra cash!

Aren't modern Porsches more or less the same as any other car wrt salt? Just wash it once a week and drive it?
But before we all put them away, Apex is at mosport on thursday, and rumour has it 6th gear is putting together a day on friday...

on the whole the car will survive and probably last longer than the average person would want to keep it, but if its a 10 year car for you i don't think its worth risking.

how long do you want to keep it? yes they're galvanized but stones and debris will pot the undercarriage overtime making it more succeptible to rust. also things like sway bars/links etc will start to rust.

The V8 S4 with snows is a lot of fun in the winter and tides me over until the Porsche can come out to play again.

I woke up to about an inch of snow again this morning. Pfaff is picking up the Audi today for service so I am back in the RX-7 cause I won't drive the P-car when it is wet and snowy. Not that it can't handle it, but it's an old car and the less wet it gets, the less chance it has of rusting.
