Well then, start a poll. Since we're all in voting mode anyway, put the question out there and see how others feel about it. Just expressing my opinion on this.

A run is not a democracy. It's a dictatorship. Jim has the only say that counts.

Like I said. The roads we are driving does not suit a very large group hence the idea we would leave this Pcars only. It has less to do with marque and more to do with traffic control. A half dozen cars driven respectfully will stretch out pretty quick, now multiply that times four and and you end up having to stop the front end several times along the way to bring it all back together. In the context of that and the numbers of listers who responded I decided this would be restricted. Not a big deal.

Turning to a sunnier topic - weather looks good (although my car does not, yet).

Sheena and I are in for sure. And nice cool dense air - gonna be another epic "Jim Drive".

Default Sorry...

Apologies to all; feeling a little crankier than usual after all the political debates in this forum. It is Jim's run and he is absolutely free to choose how he runs it.
To Shemmer,
sorry if I came across as maligning your TR, I saw it at the last GTG and you are right to feel quite proud of it. And since you are a valuable rennlist contributor and friend to many of us, you should be able to enjoy the fun run like the rest of us even if your real exotic is still laid up.

On another note: I was able to score a new HD camcorder for future track vids. http://www.aiptek.com/ it was on sale at Wal-mart in Buffalo for $179.
Got it based on webbie's recommendations along with a 16G SD card. At that price if my vacuum mount fails and it flies off, it won't be as painful as if it was a $1000 cam!
I'll be trying it on Sunday! See you all there.

Good score, Phil - Webbie's videos are remarkably clear, and the SD card just makes life a million times easier than Mini DV.

Patty and I are in, including lunch, as long as there is still room.

I did the drive this afternoon, just to make sure the way was clear. The drive was great and the fall colours excellent. I intended to book the Queenston Heights but on account of all the firemen and police I couldn't get close. Something to do with a gas line rupture. I'll book it tomorrow though. The address of the start point is the STOP 50 restaurant 1303 South Service Road, Stoney Creek L8E. I had lunch there and it is obscenely expensive. I've had cheaper lunches in Manhatten. Anyway I'll have directions on Sunday. BTW if anyone has a pair of two way radios they might be handy, but not essential. See you all on Sunday.

Phil you gotta believe me when I say I enjoyed beating on the Ferrari owners with my Porsche. I took part in one of the past runs hosted by the infamous Brettski. He's an amazing guy with a great personality and loves Ferraris. I threw myself in there with my 930 and had a blast. I had an amazing response from many of the F-car owners well before even considering ownership. I had guy's with 355's and TR's come up to me asking what was done to my car.
As exotic as a Ferrari or Lamborghini may be, I still love the feeling I get in my Porsche. The adrenaline rush is unparalleled.

BTW I don't know who the blonde was but boy was she ever mesmerized by my car. She just stood there taking pictures.
Now that I recall, I think Eshel took her for a blast and she was never the same after that.

Default So whats the final word?

I don't want to enjoy driving my 993 on a beautiful fall day. Instead I would like to bring out my Chevy Venture. It sits 7 if anyone wants to come along for a cruise. To justify it's "exotic-ness" the dealer wants $790 plus + plus +plus to change a friggin CRANK POSITION SENSOR !!! Try to beat that F-car Owners !!!!

AL

PS. JK ! I'd love to come but have a "baby party" at 12 and I would much rather be at they baby party then cruise-in and hanging out with the RENNLIST guys. hahaha....drive safe and have fun all !!!
