I read that too. And it made me realize (and I'm somewhat embarrassed to say) I've never seen any of his movies. Heard tons of great things, but never seen any. So I think I just booked next Friday and Saturday nights.

Yes you're probably too young Zook. Unless you remember The Colour of Money with Tom Cruise or Road to Perdition with Tom Hanks.....

I watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Sting a month ago...what fantastic films.

Cool Hand Luke: I Could watch the movie every week
Best Line - " what we have here is a lack of communication"
He sure was a cool guy.

I have been eating his salad dressing for 15 years (maybe more). It's all I eat when it comes to salad. He gives away 100% of the profits to charity and has raised over $250 million since he started. It's very sad but he seemed to live a good life and give a lot back.

I think the line goes

" I think what we have here is a failure to communicate "

an all time classic line for sure ...

"What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. And I don't like it any more than you men." Strother Martin's character - "Captain, Road Prison 36"

Great movie, great actor, great humanitarian and a huge loss to Hollywood movies.

What a great guy, I'll miss his work for sure.

Actually got to walk next to him, crossing on the pedestrian bridge, at the last Toronto Grand Prix (in '06). He looked exactly as in the movies.

I ran into him (almost literally) at the Daytona 24 Hours in 2004 and he was very nice. He led a great life and I am impressed how he stayed married to the same woman for so long, such conviction. The movie Slapshot was a mirror of my junior hockey days and will always be in my movie collection.

So long Paul.
