Say what you will. The law is serving it's intended purpose. Like it or not.
+1 ... it has change how we ALL approach speeding more than we realize.

I think the need to speed is different for everyone, for me I needed to get the competiveness and agression out of my system. Doing PCA DEs didn't slow me down driving on the public roads (most likely due to slow car), but I did notice I slowed down a fair bit on the road ever since I started racing go karts a couple of years ago... I haven't had a ticket since.

We used to rip up and down the DVP as well on our bikes... what a blast! I remember one guy was an ambulance driver and flipped his bike doing a wheelie at one of the drags....lol

tracking your car (track fee, gas, tires, brakes etc...) is a lot more costly than golf. don't ask me how I know...and certainly don't ask my wife she has no idea

+1

Especially with gas prices these days and driving a 996 turbo at the track, track fees (min. $300/day at Mosport) are at most only half the cost. One 20 minute session uses a 1/4 tank of gas. Pumps at the track are what, $1.60/L of premium? Maybe closer to $2.00 now?

I've always been a lead foot, but excessive speeds (200 km/h) don't really get me off. That's why I drive a Porsche. If I wanted to go fast in a straight line, I'd have bought a Camaro or something. I enjoy going fast in the curves, which is why I drive a Porsche. Kind of like women...

I don't dare approach 50 over, anywhere. What's the point? Take it to Mosport. 175 km/h by turn 2.

We are living in bad times indeed...And getting worst.

I found by chance how to calm the urge to speed.
Last year got myself Flatout 2, a race game. I played alot and to my suprise, I din't feel like speeding as much as before.
Now I have TrackMania, real fun game (1000s of track), the island tracks are the best for speed(800kph) and jumps.
There is also Test Driver wich is on the island of hawaii somewhere.
And now there is Grid; Having technical difficulties at the moment with this one.

I know, not the same, but.......

Nothing wrong with a simulated speed fix, . I've been sim-racing on and off for a few years now. I built the full Frex hydraulic motion simulator (http://www.frex.com/gp/) and drive everything from F1 to sprint cars.

Almost as fun as taking my car to Mosport. Infinitely MORE fun than effing around in GTA traffic looking for a hundred metres of open road to squirt a 500 hp sports car for a few brief seconds.

The latest one I'm into is iRacing, a new sim platform being used by a lot of pros. I was in an online race with A.J. Allmendinger a few weeks ago, which was quite cool.
