Default OT: The GMAT Exam

After having not studied any math for 4 years in university i'm a bit rusty with maths other than the basics of algebra, geo and some linear equation stuff.

None of this stuff seems like it goes too indepth but just like it glosses over the basic elements of all the math genres.

Do those Kaplan/other courses help in this regard or would i be better off taking a math fundimentals course at York to get caught up again?

Take Kaplan. I took it and got 720 when I wrote it in '91. They've probably changed it since then, but a lot of stuff on there you wouldn't be current on or be thinking about.

With your car output of 1.21 gigawatts you could go back, refresh your memory and be back before supper. (in other words, i have no clue)

+1 on Kaplan. Start with the book and the sample test, then you can decide if you need to go on the course.

+1 Kaplan take the crash course they will teach you the tricks they will throw at you, and make you familiar with the q's.

Good luck! What score will you need for your chosen B school?

Wow, 720!! Well done! I second Dave's recommendation. I had only 9 days to prepare for the GMAT and bought the book and practiced using the test you can download online. The book provides excellent strategies on how to improve your odds. They speak to the methodologies used in developing the questions so you gain that additional insight.

I didn't do anywhere near as well as Dave though

TREMENDOUSLY HIGH considering my unspectacular undergrad gpa and reasonably impressive CV of life accomplishments.

Back in the 1700's I did the combined LLB/MBA at western. I had to do the LSAT and the GMAT.

Just do any simulated tests a bunch of times. As with everything in life, practise and preparation are key.

Best of luck!

edit: I don't recall a lot of math in the gmat.

That was back when I was smart. If I was as smart now, I would stop buying cars and other toys that depreciate 50% per year or more for the first 3 years!
