Hey all, thanks for all the offers for help. The trailer in London came through, and we got the car home last night. Now I just have to fix the clutch cable, check out a possible fuel leak and rewire the starter and hope my tranny rebuild was successful... With any luck, it'll be running by dinner time today!

I did last summer - they're still in good shape.

Who did the rebuild? Who do you think? My own two hands!

Do I have details! How about 6 pages worth on Pelican?

There are a few real stumbling blocks in the rebuild process - a couple nuts that are known to be just bastards to get off, reinstalling the engine (major PITA), and the turning the key and hoping everything works, which in my case, it didn't. Today I got the clutch cable adjustment fixed, as best I can tell without actually driving the car. Now I'm working on why the starter is just clicking and not starting the car. I just got back from CT with a brand new battery, so I know that's not the problem. I've also swapped the spade connectors twice, so I know it's not a wiring problem either.

BTW, don't read anything in the first couple posts as being correct, because I was wrong about a lot of stuff early on (like the large gear being 1st).
