you guys bitch and moan far too much. The Fantino deal about 30 over was a quote from many months ago and it still has life, go figure......should take what you read with a grain of salt 50 over is to fast even for the 400 series highways.....don't try and justify it with engineering BS etc. The number of people charged and having vehicles impounded shows there are far to many people that 1) can't drive within the rules and 2) have no regard for rules. Think about what else they have no regard for. We all drive Porsche products and most do drivers ED but it really has no effect on the open road.....there has been stories here and on other boards about the about the a-hole drive cut me off and great for what I learned in DE I didn't die I just crashed...if DE worked wonders then there should be no crash. The open road has to many variables and no DE will help with that, the track is a different animal, all traffic in same direction and approx. the same speed. As for police seizure authorities......we have had to many taken away and it makes the job harder, mostly for the big stuff but harder nonetheless. Our job is to enforce the laws, we don't make them. Oh ya passing another vehilce will not be considered stunting....only if you stay at passing speed for a long distance ( read KMS). Good on the tow truck driver.....they have no authority to speed to a scene or from......picking up cars is not an emergency. The bodies are gone and investigation is over at that point.... Anyway enough said........

Oh one more thing, if you have a problem with speeding around your residence then call local authorities and make a complaint. Police can't read minds. Most school zones are considered community saftey zone and fines double there. Just so you know, I live in the boonies so remember you might be speeding around my house. I have three kids 5-15 and my neighbours have kids as well.

The problem in my neighbourhood is the biggest violators of the law are the cops... Taking my 1.5 year old Son for a walk last month we where almost wiped out by a cop car NOT slowing down for the flashing cross walk. The cop was travelling about 120 km/h with no lights and no siren on residential streets (Dundas and Coxwell)... if I had a gun I would have shot the F%#$kin A$$h0le cop for putting my Son's life in danger... I hate cops, I hate cops who abuse their rights... I really hate cops in my neighbourhood... I am planning on videotaping them with a radar gun to prove they are the biggest violators...
Wow... I really hate cops... I hate them...

Cop friend of mine told me that some people are fighting the fine and are getting knocked down to $10.50 per km over instead of $2,000, plus loss of points and 7 days without licence. He said cost for tow, storage, licence retreaval is $ 1,000 to $1,200.
I live way west in the country where some places its only 80km. That means 130 km and your walking. Makes me think twice about waking her from her sleep this spring!

Being old obviously works ... http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/...6ca632&k=13267
Was the law not enacted to punish everyone going 50 or more Km's over the speed limit? Or just a select segment of our population?
Wonder how many Police Officers have 'bumped' a radar reading from 148 kph up to 151 kph ... because he was dealing with a young kid in a rice rocket? (the Officer does not need to show the radar reading)
