ECU - where located on 996?
I know, I know ... newbie, I should know this.
But can anyone tell me where the ECU is located on a 996 and how you gain access to it?
Also posted this request on 996 board.
Thanks.

peter,
just pull out the first piece of carpeting behind the rear seats. if you don't have the bose subwoofers, it just lifts right out without tools.
are you doing a flash/piggyback chip?

Thanks very much guys.
The Targa has it's Bose sub in the front passenger trans. tunnel like the cab. so access should be fairly easy from the sounds of it.
Doing a flash? ..... maaaybe! I am toying with the idea, although I do hear plenty of cons, and pros to doing this. Still a little hesitant, but was thinking of the Softronic version that seems to be all over the 997 and Cayman boards. Price is $895 US. I have been e-mailing Scott at Softronic (www.softronic.us), seems like a well-qualified, good guy.
Cheers ... Peter
