Car Import - bilingual airbag stickers?
Hi all,
I am a newbie here. I have just purchased my first Porsche, which is a 2005 Boxster S. I've brought it over here to Toronto last Friday. I am now preping for the Canadian Tire inspection. I've got DRL done for me by the dealer who has sold the car to me.
Then, I've heard ppl saying that I will need bilingual airbag warning stickers. Does anyone know whether I need this? If so, does anyone know where is the best place to locate one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Anthony

Anthony,
I just printed the French verbage on my computer, on plain
paper and threw it in a sandwich back, along with scotch tape
in the event they were being jerks.
In the end, i didnt need it.
Welcome to Rennlist.

Thanks all! I guess I will print something on paper and bring tapes with me just in case.
I still need to wait for the compliance letter from Porsche NA. This is a FYI for anyone who's planning to do this: I've got one from the dealer, but RIV has rejected it and said that the letter has to come from the manufacturer.
Otherwise, I think everything should be good to go.
By the way, I have no idea who's Clive...

Was the recall letter from the dealer on dealer letterhead, with a Porsche logo? It needs to be on letterhead with logo, or have a business card photocopied onto it with a Porsche logo, something to tell the RIV inspector it's from a factory-authorized Porsche service centre, rather than an independent garage. If it did have the logo, try another RIV inspector. The guy I had was awesome - he realized how dumb some of the rules are and let those slide. My recall notice said it had to have a new gas cap, so I showed him an invoice for a gas cap and he passed it.

Federal inspection done today at Can Tire. You guys are right. In fact, I wonder whether they have even checked the car or not. My car was at the same parking spot and it only took them 10 minutes.
Anyway, I just need drive clean and safety and then will be able to get proper Ontario plate. =)
