Omar, do you mean banana plugs? Any reputable audio store can make you a set of speaker cables with these type of ends.

yep, banana plugs. i found a guide on how to attach the ends to some bare wire. Going to go grab some bananas from Radio Shack and give'er.

Also, if anyone has an HD-DVD copy of transformers or topgun they don't want, will buy off you

futureshop has a huge sale on speakers and stuff until 2morro at noon!
they have the velodyne DSP-5000R subwoofer for 750$ instead of 1050 like usual.

Are velodyne's good subs? this one is kinda big...a 15" with 1000 watts continuous power, but it doesn't play below 20hz like axioms and SVS's do.

Is it a good buy? what am i missing by not having a sub that goes down to like...15 hz?

Below 20 Hz? Hahahaha. They lie. Or it is -9dB down or something. For 20 Hz, you need a room dimension longer than 32 ft, you need large drivers because of the air excitement demand for that large air volume & those large drivers need a gaggle of power.

All for something that is probably not on the discs in the 1st place since the engineer's system didn't go that low either & if it was, you couldn't hear it anyway since the human ear can't hear below 20 Hz at birth.

picked up the subwoofer today. Toronto to muskoka and back in 5 hrs. Tuning the sub is complicated as hell. Right now i have it set to bypass the on-sub crossover and am just using the reciever's settings to control everything. 704's are running full and reciever is set to dual sub as i find this makes the bass a bit less directional.

I have no idea what "LFE for LFP" in the menu does, so i just left it at the default 80hz THX setting.

Omar, you need a new couch. That one looks like it came from the set of Golden Girls. In fact, I think my nan used to have the same one in her sunroom.

Pshhh, it makes his ladies feel relaxed, at home - I see Omar's angle. The flowers are all part of his master plan.

Omar, the speakers look great! Tv fits perfect!

LFP=Linear Field Proximity, ensures a seamless transition between the middle and high frequencies.

LFE=Low Frequency Effects
