I started to travel from Mississauga to Ottawa every Wednesday,
and returning Thursday evening.
Any suggestions of nice places, Restaurants, clubs, entertainment,
or P owners hang out spots?
Thanks
John

Suggest Hwy 7 on good days. It takes more time than the 401/416 but the route is less boring.
as for restaurants and what not. The market is your friend, you can find quite a few nice pubs there. Clubs are basically only located in two spots in Ottawa; the market and elgin street.

I did the Ottawa commute from Toronto for 3 years. You have to try Louis pizza on McArthur, meatball sandwich at the Prescott, Nates smoked meat on Rideau.
Hwy 7 is not the safest drive in the winter. Lots of OPP catching speeders also. Stick with 416/401. Get gas at Flying J in Napanee. Cheapest gas and clean truck stop.

Thanks guys.
I passed by 4 OPP speed traps, busy writing speeding tickets.
I love my 02 C4S mileage: 8.9 L/100Km.
Some short spurs of 160, but averaged 120 Km/h.
Mississauga to Ottawa in 4.5 hours.
I ended up at a Starbucks on St Laurent and Smyth.
I will have to travel like this for the next 4 years or more.

I eat in the Byward market a lot. My fav 2 places are both on Clearance Street:
Stella - Italian bistro (Try: Stella Salad add calamares (not fried!) or shrimp fresh fig pizza)
Empire Grille (warm beef salad - excellent or try sea food chowder (very unique style chowder)
Both are "reasonable" $. Also, for both, you can eat at the bar for faster in/out.
Also try the huge custom made Italian sandwiches (5$ tax included) at La botega (in the market on George st). The sandwich bar is way at the back of this big Italian grocery store. Line moves fast - they have 3 people making them a noon. pickle 1$. Eat on a seat or bench outside or in the rideau centre in winter...

I will try Hwy 7 one of these days if I have extra time.
Do you live in Ottawa?
