Christien, thanks for all that information. As I said, I really don't have the time to do that sort of thing myself. I will probaly just end up dealing with either DFC or a local high end car dealer.

Im taking off to California on Tuesday....maybe I will find a steal down there and all this may change again.

Cheers....

You should really consider bringing one up. The time vs $$$$ is huge. I brought mine up from florida. Had TFX ship it for me.

$1595.00 for shipping (off season) $1795.00 regular season. they took care of everything at the border and dropped it off to my home.
$250.00 for brokerage.
6.1% duties
You have to pay both taxes, 1 tax at the border, 1 tax when you register.

Its an absolute joke. The only major work you have to do is get it inspected to change the minor things.

By the way. There are deals to be had. My brother bought his 04 996 cab in Canada for $65 cdn with super low KM, sports exhaust, nav etc and 11 months warranty left. So if you are getting into an 02 for 75K. Its way off.

"They price their cars to move..so little room to move"!!!!Im looking at a pre owned car.

Any comments and help would be more then welcome.

While the Ontario boys can chime in on the quality of the dealership they seem to keep a fair amount of Porsches in stock.

^^^^ He bought it privately in the GTA. 2004 996 cab, nav, sports exhaust, charcoal grey. 6spd. Car was absolutely mint. His car is a U.S model and it still came with 11 months remaining warranty.

The guy he bought this from brought up a 997s and sold his 996 to my brother. He was originally asking $75k for it.
