go for the 993tt you will not regret it. timeless design great power and much more interesting car.
+ should hold its value better than anything newer.

My father bought a 96 993tt arena red from Segal last year and had it shipped to B.C. .......However, I think the car was originally sold in Calgary AB.

No offence to those who own that color........but in the big picture Arena Red is almost impossible to resell.........especially with beige or black leather. If it has grey leather you are OK.......but not by much. Segal had each of those cars in stock for over a year before they sold.....and I would not inventory a car in that color for that reason.

There was another 993 TT that was for sale in Red Deer - I believe it may have been arena red as well but I'm not positive. This car got split in 1/2 when it hit a power pole. It was rebuilt without a proper jig and I was told that parts of the car were not up to spec - for example the headrest of one seat for some reason was closer to the pillar than the other which implied the body may not have been straight. It sat for sale at a low price for quite some time. That was a couple years ago. I don't know where this car ended up.

Tim on the 993tt had trouble selling his arena red tt and ended up selling to a dealer and took a hit on it. no question colour helps/hurts sale.
1pgh1: the colour is not red, but arena red a deep burgundy...it was the poster car colour.

However, the look of the 993TT is 10 times better than the look on the 996 GT3.

Bottom line...I'd never trade my GT3 for a 993tt.

Thanks for the info SoloRacer (that Red Deer car sounds brutal!!). Luckily, I don't think these are same as my fathers car. It is a Canadian car sold to a guy in Calgary named Richard Kentor ( I think?) it to was lowered (handles and looks great) ,then he moved to Quebec or Ontario and thats where he left it with only 32,000kms! Keith at Rennsport was kind enough to give us a lead about the car.
