Hey Omar, just getting this updated - what/where is GBM? Are these events all open to anyone who wants to participate, or are they spectator-only? I'm just compiling a list of driving events, not spectator.

No problem. It's as much for myself as anyone else - I just wish I could make them all, or even most.

CSCS will be kicking off the 2007 season with a bang.

****New for 2007****

As requested by many drivers for 2007 we will run 3 open lapping days at TMP, Cayuga all ending with a time attack competition. For the morning and greater part of the afternoon all drivers will have plenty of time for lapping. These days are open to all makes and models and drivers of various skill levels.

Drivers will be split into groups (beginner, intermediate, advanced) so all skill levels are welcome. We will also have instructors on hand who are willing to take you out for a ride or ride with you to show you the basics for free.

Best of all anyone registered for open lapping will have the option to enter our time attack competition for free. Time attack will include 9 classes (street, super street, and unlimited which will then be divided into three sub class AWD, FWD, RWD). The Time Attack format will involve one warm up lap, three timed laps, and one cool down lap. These laps are not head to head therefore there will be no passing involved. The fastest of your three timed laps (not an average) will be used to determine class winners. Class winners will receive a trophy and prizes while all competitors will receive points towards our 2007 Time Attack championship. There is a rulebook on our site to determine class regulations and other necessary rules. This time attack is catered to daily driven cars and weekend warriors.

Brief outlines of rules
Passing in corners is strongly prohibited.
Helmets are not mandatory but are strongly recommended.
A drivers meeting will be held in the morning to go over track basics
In the 8 hour track session 1 hour will be for a drifting exhibition

We will be capping the amount of drivers at 40 (over a 7 hour period this allows lots of track time for everybody without being crowded on the track) Pre-Registration forms can be found at www.cscs.ca under the “Time Attack” heading

If you’re interested in bringing down a team/club contact chris@cscs.ca to discuss group rates.

120$ i believe is what it costs (includes entry into the time attack..which is like SOLO1 time trials). i'll talk 2 chris and see what he says about the half day cost. i know that the time attack will start later in the afternoon so you may not get much runtime so i'll see if he can half the cost or just let you in fro free or something.

are you going to be bringing the oldskool?

If I can make it, yes (and I'll take you out for a few laps!). I think my performance issues are a fuel delivery problem, which I need to sort out and test before I head back to Mosport, so an hour at TMP is exactly what I need. Just not sure if I can make it for Sun. afternoon, so don't ask anyone to really make crazy accomodations for me!
