I imported a 2006 M BMW in 2006 from an authorized NJ BMW dealer. They could sell it to me in canada because it was a trade with under $1000k miles for about $15k under cdn pricing. Warranty applied. My backup was that if there was any catastrophic incident and my local dealer pushed back, i’d simply flatbed the car to the closest dealer in syracuse ny. Biggest hassle was the suspicious jerk at the ogdensburg border entry (and a BMW guy) who suspected i had a trade-in i was not not disclosing. And he charged me duty which i got reimbursed.

Did BMW make you pay their recall letter ransom?

You take the car over the border for repairs and Canada Customs can easily slap a duty on the value of the repair. I don;t know if thsi is true with warranty work but wouldn't surprise me if it is.

hey RLs,
BTW- Canada has the best Porsche prices/values in the world market, allegedly. To be confirmed.

Currently researching a 911 in ON,QC or CA.. The exchange is quite nice for US buyers. Calculated savings is $10-20kUSD based on model year, kms, etc
Some cost: US NAV maps C$700, CPO is honored in US (and world-wide at P-dealers!)

Put a deposit on a '19 GTS MT7 in SO ON but could not sell my current GTS in time, so the deal fell through. Added cost: C$2000 for single covered truck transpo (1000kms); 2nd covered option was C$1000
US Duty 2.85% ~$2500, plus C$500 border stop

The Porsche web site has total of ~12 manuals! Lots of PDKs )-:

Searching manuals is a obstacle-wall to find them. Few manuals north of the border in used/CPO 911s. 2nd challenge is finding black interiors!

But the savings is worth the search (an adventure). The costs: 2.85% U.S. Duty based on NADA wholesale value, as an ex: Transpo from VCBC via rail is a total of C$5000
(including border document handling ~C$500 +/-) rail and the Duty *Plus a quarantine 30 days in ME with the moose...

Negotiating w/ a dealer is fun for a C$3-4k discount (help) on a 911 above C$120, specially if its been listed months.
So my estimate is ad C$ 5k to a 911 GTS or C4S @ C$110k to 140k In the US similar GTSs 991.1 or .2 list for $120k to 130k.

So let me know of any 911 GTS 991.1 or .2 manual with black interior... *from BC to NS!
