Default Winter tires source

Has anyone ever ordered winter tires from www.tires-easy.ca? Prices look very competitive (even compared to Tire Rack in the US!), unless I am missing something. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Zookie. I already checked 1010tires. Including shipping, they are still CAD 200.00 more than tires-easy for my set of 4 winter tires, which means that tires-easy are pretty much on-par with Tirerack (once you include shipping, Duty and Taxes).

but they are located in California USA, so if you have something shipped by UPS by them you will get owned on Brokeage and Customs, so i think 1010tires is better off, because they ship from BC so no Customs...

looks like they might come from germany. That's where their mailing address is.
Also this place sounds good:tiretrends
Arnaud let me know when you're ready to order and maybe we can save on shipping by ordering together.

No worries Phil, will let you know before I place my order. By the way, I checked with Henry @ REFINED MOTORSPORT: he cannot install 18" tires (bummer, his machine will only do up to 17") but he is using the guy next door for that (hmmm...).
I will dig further on Tireseasy. I sent an email enquiring about Duty & Customs clearance but my email bounced... I will try to call later today. Let's wait and see if someone else knows them (I PM'd a guy in Calgary who seemed to have ordered from them before and await his response).

Hey Guys,
I'm looking for set of tires as well if you can count me in.
Brokerage would be the same from anywhere in the world.
It's the shipping from CA that would kill you.

www.tireworks.ca in the west end of T.O. (Mississauga/Brampton area) is a supplier to the Porsche Club and I believe they provide a discount for members. They seem to have a good selection - not sure how their pricing would compare vs. shipping, duty, etc. They will also store your summer tires (for $100 I believe, but that is likely negotiable if you purchase from them).

You definitely want to get the TOTAL price from other online retailers other than us before deciding. I see it all the time where their unit price is a few bucks cheaper but the total isn't after they add all of their other charges in. Or they say it's in stock when it isn't. Or they can get it when they can't. In some sizes we can be beat by a few bucks, but I guarantee NOBODY out there will stand behind the product like we will. We wouldn't be the oldest and the biggest in the country if we didn't.

Plus, anything you buy from me through this board helps Rennlist!

I had a terrific experience with a local shop yesterday.

Tirecraft in Concord (Jeff - 905.760.1130) sold me RA1s for well under what Ive been able to get them from anyone, ever before. Plus, they found the size I needed when no one else could AND they got them in hours and put my car on the hoist the second it arrived. It was my best ever tire experience.

Plus, they race in the regionals. They understand.
