Well, dear list, here at last is my RPP Motorsports story. I recently settled my lawsuit against Renato (Reni) Fausch of RPP in which I alleged that he had failed to fix an oil pressure problem in my car after having had the engine entirely apart twice in 14 months (and charging me both times). Moreover, on the second occasion, he had, I alleged, installed the balance shafts out of phase, causing damage to the oil pickup tube, fuel rail, and belt tensioners. When I faxed him to tell him of the balance shaft problem, which caused the car to break down in Montreal and Mont-Tremblant, he simply didn’t respond...it was at this point that I decided to sue. My allegations were supported by affidavits from three mechanics and technicians with a huge amount of Porsche experience.

It has been a frustrating process to say the least, but I’m pleased to report that the car now runs great, thanks to the efforts of BRG/Group 88 in Oshawa, and Unicorn Motors in Lachine. And, many thanks for the help and support I got from the members of UCR and the Trillium BMW Club...you know who you are!

I can’t say I was real surprised when I noticed in the Board Minutes of UCR that RPP is no longer a tech centre because he had not payed his bills to the club.

Hey Bill, congrats on settling things. I gather from your tone that you were happy with the settlement. Who are you using for service now? The only other Porsche shops I know of in London are Tatra and Trevor. I've heard bad things about Tatra, and Trevor's good, but beyond slow.

Well, I'm happy to have it over with. I settled, rather than go to court, and the settlement will likely pay my legal expenses and leave enough to take the long-suffering spouse to dinner. I could probably have gotten more by going to court, but would just have given that to the lawyers, too.

I am going out of town for service...Bartling/Group 88, and am very pleased. In town, I have one one occasion used Adrian at Fanshawe. He's not a Porsche specialist, and doesn't claim to be, but he seems straightforward and competent.

I didn't see you at the last UCR event...are you doing mainly lapping days, now?

Yep. I was at the UCR DE back in early May. Dad and I are headed to Mosport on Monday for the BRG day. You should try driving with these guys - it's an awesome format - 45 min. on, 45 min. off, all day, with instructor, very little traffic. It's awesome!

Calabogie and Mont-Tremblant are my next events.

I get out of town. Have you considered Furtmair or German Autotech?

Hmm, Getting out of town will be expensive and time consuming. Not sure of this option, if I am going waterloo I might as well go to Toronto.

There was a place that advertised on Kijiji and I emailed them asking if they have the LN tools and they said they have done a number of LN upgrades. Can't find the email now it could be Euro Tech on York. There is a place on wharencliff I will visit today before work, I know they do German cars.

I don't know if he's still around, but there used to be a guy named Hans Schroeder (Hans Schroeder Auto Repair). I met him once, seemed OK, but I don't have a depth of experience with him. The old number I have is 453-5610. I guess I could check it out myself before writing this, but am in a real rush right now.

I think someone posted recently that Mike at German Autotech had recently done an IMS for them.
