Still up on axle stands waiting for drop links and a new front sway bar so it'll be a few more weeks yet...

I noticed the other day that I was 'almost' the only one here without a Rennlist membership! I corrected this first thing in the morning. I feel much better now!

Took my car out of heated storage . . .
Disconnected the battery maintainer and she fired right up. One tire was low on air but otherwise ok.

Yesterday was kinda crappy so I just brought it home after a quick spin but today was beautiful. I put on almost 300km today!!!

Put the battery back in, hit the key and she caught on the second turn. Very nice to hear that again after 5.5 months in storage. Bled off the extra air in the tires and did a 15 km shakedown run just to clear the cobwebs. The roads are still too dirty to be driving but now at least there's hope!

Changed my oil on the weekend, gave 'er a wash..and Armorall'ed the tires......she's all set to go! Only problem is....still too much gravel on the roads. I'm paranoid to take her out just yet. With my luck, I get peppered with stones...and I get a crack in that really expensive windshield!

Wouldn't it be a better idea to store the 964 with fresh oil? Just a thought!

Could very well be....but I was told by mechanic that even new oil gets condensation if a car sits over winter. He could also be FOS. The "old" oil wasn't all that old anyway....according to my receipts from the previous owner...there was only 2500 miles inbetween changes. (I've only put on 500 miles since I bought it in September)

What do you guys recommend? Oil change before storing for the winter, or after? I've heard arguments for both...not sure which is best.

My wrench said before as long as you don't start the engine. If you run it you need to change the oil. If it sat all winter, it will be safe to run it in the new season .....
