I've recently moved to new offices that are RIGHT across the street from Downtown Porsche (Front and Berkeley).
It's VERY tempting to have odds and ends taken care of on my '90 944 S2 at this location - since it's RIGHT THERE!
Pending work includes a belt tension check and some suspension work.
Is this a trustworthy repair facility - esp for the older cars? If I ever find the "right" 993 or 964 - could I take it there too?
I know other great service locations, but they are now not at all easy to get to.
Thanks in advance for any info.

i wouldnt go to any porsche dealer for service unless its warranty work. i have bought 4 new cars in the last 5 years all porsche and they all get serviced at fiorano. this was due to issue after issue at the dealers service departments..
call fiorano : 905 850 7600 ask for courtney,his personal car is a 944 turbo
I second that. I may be holding a grudge, but I haven't been to Downtown Fine Cars since the early 90's.
I have an old VW (not old back then I guess) that I took there with a manual crank sunroof. Those morons charged me like 35 bucks for an estimate and told me that I needed a new track ($550). I was a kid with not that much money to spend so I took it over to a buddies house to have a look at it. A few hours of inexperienced tinkering and a replacement gear (like 5 bucks!) and we had the sucker back together and working like new.
Can you tell I'm still pissed? They didn't even look at it except to write the type of car on the bill.
Take it to you're neighbour for repairs -- he may not know what he's doing, but atleast he'll give it his best shot.
I will not go to dealer if the work is not under warranty. But between DFC and Pfaff, I will choose DFC. There were many bad experience myself and many of my friends with Pfaff. Pfaff has replace new front stock bearing under warranty on my TT which I found out they just charge and did not do it.
If you go to DFC, ask for Brain or Andy. At least they were doing what they suppose to do!
Its no suprise that there are conflicting opinions on the service of either dealer. I am a little pissed at DFC for scratching my last car but they are covering the cost of repair ( Khalil Khan is a great guy, runs the service)
Pfaff is where I buy all my cars ( five now ) and they treat me very very well, its just a pain getting up to Woodbridge.
Have heard excellent things about Fiorano from the usuaul suspects that would know so you are probably better served at a shop like Fiorano that sets up track cars for a living.
I go to GTEK which is not to far from you......they do great work...lots of track cars..
no offense to GTEK and jack but he is terrible at follow up and most of his cars are older cars and not many new ones. when i was in fiorano yesterday they had a 70's 911T,2 GT3,a 2003 C4S,a 2002 supercharged 996 cab,a grand am 996 cup race car, a GT3 cup,997S a 944S2 and a 944 turbo. GTEk would never have a mix like that there and Fiorano races GT3 cup,Grand AM and has won daytona.

Fiorano can do all service scott. oil changes and anything simple. they have also worked with pfaff on my cars to get warranty work done and other issues. courtney was a tech at DFC and bought fiorano to provide better service to owners of fine cars. usually he can do stuff fast while you are in the area or loan you a car or drive you home
I would not take an older car to a dealer period. The dealers don't want to work on them (there is no money in it) and they will let you know that loud and clear when an oil change costs you $300 +. If you have the time, I strongly recommend Mantis Racing in Oakville. These guys are a class act. I have had nothing but great experience with them and they are expert in 944's.
Thats good to know, I'll have them do an oil change to see their operation, thanks
