Yes please. I'd appreciate that.

R.B., sorry, the Targa's body lines sort of ruin the interest for me.

This looks like it might be something you are interested in. I think he is still considering selling it.

That's tempting, Tango Foxtrot. It's like most of the the cars I've seen so far: very nice 911s in need of some relatively minor work, selling for around $10K. I can understand that's what people are mostly selling... since the market for do-it-yourself-extensive restorations is probably very limited. But in spite of this, what I'm really looking for is a $3-5K or less 911 in need of extensive restoration.

I really don't want to buy a $10K+ 911, not necessarily because I can't afford it (though always that's a significant issue ) but because I want to work on the car. I'd much rather have a $5K purchase followed by $10K in my own work rather than just buying a $10K driver to begin with.

Unfortunately, I haven't really been able to find such cars for sale...

I'm looking for a similar car but opposite (so I'm not honing in on ignatius' thread!). I'm looking for a 1970-73 911 Targa in very good condition or I'll stoop to an SC targa in great condition.
