Hey All,

Anyone have a locksmith they'd recommend for a Porsche? tldr; dead battery and valet key not working!

Why is the emergency key not working? If it’s stiff try lubricating the lock first.

Another method is to use suction cups on the door glass to gently force it down or in some cases tapping power into a marker light can work but not so much on new cars.

What year/model?

It's a 2018 911. I bought it used, and I think it's straight up the wrong valet key. It's unlikely it's seized.

Are you referring to the emergency key that is inside the fob?

Yep. I bought the car used, and I think the dealer gave me the wrong emergency key. When I put it in, it doesn't feel seized, rather just the wrong key.

Assuming you only got one fob. I find it unlikely that the emergency key was changed as they are inside the fob. When dead they do require a good amount of force. If it is wrong you will need to go to the dealer with the vin and get a new key.

There is a way to open the frunk without the key. Behind driver side wheel well cover resides a steel tether which you pull to release the frunk lid. It’s tricky to get to, but totally doable.

Thanks for the share. I tried to do this, but couldn't find it! I'm just gonna have to wait for the new key!

Its gotta be there. The car in the video is a 991.2 like yours.
You have to take the plastic cover off to get to it.
