Carbonio Front Plate Mount
#16
Not sue if referring to Carbonio or mag mount
With magnet method you need a stack of several magnets to increase the holding power. (inside bumper & on plate holder)
The first car I did this with was an '07 Z4MC and several since.
I never had an issue with it falling off and ran the cars over many less than ideal roads.
e.g. We went down to Watkins Glen every year and many of the highways ( 90) down are terrible and plate held on great.

not for me. I don't like the off-center look. if this plate falls off, I'll just install the factory plate mount. Frankly, I expected me car to have it installed already, but they left it off because they knew I was taking it for ppf.

I don't know if you bought the Carbonio plate mount yet, but they had this vendor at the UNR Concours d’Elegance today with an awesome front plate mount. I saw at least 3 people buying it. I inquired about it and they are guaranteed to hold on to speeds of up to 230mph. They look very good and they bolt right on to the original frame of the car, and they just unclip in less than 5 seconds. I noticed that the back is a rubber sponge, so it will not damage the cars paint or ppf. They had three different types. I don't know the price but they are worth checking out.

Someone pm'd me to say that you could screw the carbonio mounting braket on. I checked, there are holes. A couple of black screws there would never be visible and certainly better that drilling holes in the painted part. I need to take the bumper cover off for another job, so while there I'll see if there's anything I can damage up there drilling pilot holes into the fake 718 grille

If anyone needs a new Carbonio mount for a 992 with adaptive cruise control (or you just want the plate mounted higher for ground clearance), I have one unopened for $240 picked up in Oakville (403 and Dundas). You’ll save $55 vs buying direct form Carbonio.

I have had the adhesive carbonio on my Cayenne for two months. I called the company and they assured me it would not fall off. These reports of it falling off make me nervous. Did you use the bonding agent?
My plate is off most of the time, just looks so much better. I put it on for long trips when I plan to speed.

^my first one fell off after the car had been sitting in the garage for the winter under a cover that was pressing on it. The replacement I take off when I'm not driving it, it's a 718 and is not yet a DD. Takes seconds to remove and put back on
You can tell if something is amiss because the rubber bumpers on the top of the plate start to come away from the bumper. There are holes for screws on the unit, and for the 718 at least, you could back up the glue with a couple of screws into the underside of the grill that would not be visible
