I have an unused 034 Motorsports rear sway bar for a Mk 8 GTI that anyone can have for half price. That'll teach me for ordering parts after the second bottle of wine.

Thanks for the recommendation - I read the fault code and it's pointing the waste gate actuator which seems to be a common issue on these cars. If so, the only solution a dealer will offer is complete replacement of the turbo which is ridiculous if it's just the WG actuator.

I'll give ATS a call now

I had a MK7 R and loved it. Traded it in for my Boxster as I didn't have to commute for work anymore. When I needed a commuter again I bought a new BRZ. Enjoyed my time with it but needed some more practicality and refinement. Grabbed a MK8 GTI and it's been a great experience. Need to downgrade rim size like I did on my R but I am loving it. I must say though, in the winter it's quite the difference. OBVIOUSLY....one is FWD and the other is AWD but driving it in the winter for the first time last year had be considering getting back into an R. We'll see, I change cars way too often.

Manual guy all my life but the DSG is fantastic and would never consider manual for this car. DSG keeps you in the boost and is smooth around town but bangs out shifts when you want to be aggressive.

R in winter mode, what a beast:

Love the blue on the GTI:

thanks - AST was excellent and dealt with the WG actuator efficiently and cost effectively. Highly recommend them

Hey Folks who have just bought...are you seeing any rebates or deals below MSRP on Golf Rs?

Just wondering as there's loads on dealer lots at the moment...

+1 so tempted with all this chatter. I had a 2005 Jetta GLI that I enjoyed back in period....maybe it's time again but for a Golf R manual.

My 24R goes in Monday for full boat stage 2 high torque, including southbend stage 3 endurance, downpipe, intake, adjustable sway bar, etc. can’t wait.

The haptic steering wheel "issues" are overblown. I've put 60k on my '22R and have not had a single issue with them, even when driving aggressively. I don't understand how so many of the youtubers were turning the heated wheel on with their palms.

Liquimoly is easy to come by. ~70CAD with filter from places like WCT or ParkAuto.

Unlikely. I'm stg1+ and lots of guys on Vortex and FB are stg2/3 without clutch issues. For some reason it's holding up a lot better than the mk7/7.5. Just don't get on it until you're over 2k rpm and you'll be fine.
