OT: VW GTI

Check your owner’s manual to see which approval it requires. Not all Mobil 1 0W20 sold on Canadian stores have the VW approval depending on your model year.

Indirect comment…currently driving a new Passat in Germany. The infotainment system is great! Perfect size screen, snappy response, fluid menus, joy to use!
looks to be the same in the 2025 golf

I've had two fairly recent Golf R (7.5?). Learning about the demise of the stick both saddens me and made me wonder if I should stick one in the garage.
Attended at the store yesterday. The hvac and wheel buttons are needlessly fiddly, but something I'm sure would get easier with constant use. The shifter is much improved. Way shorter and notchier than the previous gen. The colour selections could be enlarged. R's seem quite plentiful, assume the same for GTI. Good luck. Hard to go wrong with a hot Golf.

how do you guys find vw service?
in the past I could not believe how low budget it felt when servicing at VW dealers (was a few years ago, granted).
I recall a part under warranty was ordered and they said call back in 2 weeks and see if it arrived. I was like, can't you call me? has this changed?

I have found Brett at Burlington VW to be the best. It’s important to build a relationship.
YMMV
Edit. And I will call out Oakville for being total douche bags. They tagged my Golf R TD1, and voided my warranty and did not even tell me. 6 months of fighting with vw and they reinstated my warranty. Honestly I find all Oakville dealers to be ****.
