Definitely do PPF entire front and mirrors at the minimal. I would do the entire car if you can. It's worth it!!

Now that there are so many shops that do it, you can get a pretty good deal as this market is super competitive now a days.

You just have to ask around and get 3-4 different quotes.

Such a tough decision.

I am glad the original owner had XPEL installed at delivery on my 2015 GTS. He even removed the factory rear quarter PPF and had larger ones installed.

I also cannot figure out why anyone would spend $150K on a vehicle and then cheap out on ~$4K of PPF.

We see a lot of higher-end cars with PPF in our shop, and many of them are amateurish hack jobs. In any city there will only be a small number of PPF providers that have the experience and exhibit attention to detail that differentiates them from the also-rans. Ask for recommendations from car-savvy folk, then look at the PPF on their cars. If you see anything amiss, keep asking/looking. The really good PPF work is easy to spot if you look at enough cars, and if you shop by price you'll almost certainly get a sub-standard job. Find a great installer, and pay whatever they charge.

Agree with above post -I have used a couple and they have been very good. I did an 100% PPF and ceramic on the 992RS which is an absolute nightmare to do and needed extra protection behind the wheels as it flings up stones all the time. Done by the Refinery who have done other cars for me and it is a superb job.

That's easy to say.

I've seen Ferraris that have 1/3 hood PPF. It's horrendous.

Yesterday some doorknob with a trailer full of probably screening material (small bricks) in tow hit some bumps and sent a bunch of rocks flying out onto our car and a bunch of others. That alone was worth having the front end of our car wrapped. If I was driving an unwrapped 992, I would've lost some of my soul then and there.

+1 for the work at The Refinery/Gerard. I had our X5 done there and had them replace the old PPF on my GTS.

The dude with the trailer would have been like...."Those rocks didn't come off my trailer it was someone else!"

I guess I am one of those people. As for coverage, full front end plus the rockers and full rear quarters seems to be the way to go on a 992. That said, the difference in cost between this and full coverage appears to be less than $1,800. If I do the front and rear, then I might as well do the doors too as that should cover most of the "typical" stone chip/scuff areas. I'm guessing that would be another $500 - $800. If I do that, then I might as well do the whole car for another $1,000.

As for Ceramic Coating - I think it is useful, but at $1,000, I'm going to just use Carpro Reload 2.0 twice per year.

Haha, this is exactly what happened to me. My previous car had a deep stone chip right on the hood, it bothered me a lot. For my current car, I was going to do the front end, then decided that I wanted to do the doors and ended up doing the entire car, since it wasn't that much more.

For the coating, Xpel (not sure about other brand PPFs) supposedly has built in hydrophobic properties. https://www.xpel.com/ultimate-fusion...rotection-film

Agree spending over $150K plus for your beautiful sport car and cheap out on a $4K PPF doesn't make any sense at all!!

Don't know what they are thinking not to fully PPF their Ferrari lol!!!

I see people even PPF'ing their $60K Tesla let alone cheating out on your P car!!

On forums I have seen owners discuss oil ad nauseam and then they buy the cheapest oil filter. Really .

This is the perfect amount of wrap. I'd also wrap top front quarter of roof. I'd also add mud flaps to prevent rock chips from peppering the side haunches and bottom rear quarter panel 👍

.... But yeah, do full PPF if you can!

I would recommend doing full rear bumper as well because sometimes you might have an idiot that is parking next to you and drives out and scratches the corner of your rear bumper. That had happened to me once.
