Vehicle Thefts - Some Stats Released Today

Multiple stab wounds - no one died. If someone has never been in this sort of situation in real life, they can't fathom how easy it is to use too much force. We aren't talking about point fighters. These are hard-style Kyokushinkia type fighters - 5th Dan and 3rd Dan. I'm just glad that I wasn't there that night.

knives are considered lethal weapons. the news is full of police shooting a person who refused to drop the knife. corner me in my house holding a knife I will shoot you.

And you'll go to jail for some amount of time if they haven't cut you. I'm not saying that I wouldn't do the same thing. The crux will be what were they doing with the knife when you shot them.

The funny thing back then was even though some ended up in the hospital nobody was ever charged with anything, a few interviews and that was it.

That's where your lawyer comes in! You would need to prove what their intent was. Some of the best stories are from the bouncer days. Almost all of my friends from back in the day could fight well (Judo, Boxing, Karate, Weapons and Aikido backgrounds). My one buddy was an excellent boxer with a steel jaw. He tossed a guy early in the night for being drunk and unruly. 2 am and he is walking to his car and the same guy comes staggering up to him (this is Hamilton too). He figures a quick shove aside and then he'll get into his car and move on. Just as he is about to grab the guy's arm, the guy straightens up, stone cold sober and hits Colin with a right hook. He said he felt that he was just about to go out, but thankfully he recovered. The guy poked the wrong bear and Colin finished him off
I started training at 9 and finished full time when I was 38 (broke my cheekbone and cracked my eye socket - but it never knocked me out!). I still train at 62 (last week) - but mostly Kata and weapons now because they are easier on this old body!

The funny thing is, I didn't think it was that bad. When my kids hear the stories that my buddies and I tell, they can't believe them. I thought everybody had a bomb set-off under their cafeteria table in high school LOL! True story!!!

that’s the law.
but I would definitely break the law if my family was in danger and use of my firearms.

You can only use reasonable force for the situation at hand. No guns for them, no guns for you. As a Black Belt, I've attended a number of presentations on this topic over the years and had a number of students who where Police Officers. The time spent will mostly be determined by your lawyers. 2 of my close Karate friends got into a fight in downtown Hamilton a number of years ago. They were outnumbered and 2 guys from the other side pulled knives. My friends disarmed them and then used the knives to defend themselves - it happened quickly. They did 3 years each. Being "experts" and the other guys not having a chance to actually use their knives played a large role in their sentences. My friends had ****ty lawyers.
In the MIlton situation, the resident fired one shot. He did not shoot a second time or third time, each time making worse for himself if they were not necessary. 4 against 1 (not including the mother), intruder had a firearm and attacked the mother.
Point being in a situation, you may not react as prudently as you think you would out of the situation.
