Hmmm. I clean behind the plate on my car at least once a year. On my 992, I also lift the spoiler and clean all the hardware under there every second wash.

You take the plate mounting bracket off of the bumper? Aren’t you afraid of stripping the plastic mounting holes?

It happened to me at a UCR charity track day. There used to be a program called Driven 2 Smile. We'd take special need children around Mosport for a morning session. Low speed lapping. Sometimes some of the parents would be given rides. One of the parents I gave a ride to worked in the insurance industry. BTW I removed my plates that morning.

Yep, bracket comes off...not worried a bit about stripping threads. We have no front plates here BTW, so it's just two bolts at the rear.
