Default Porsche Prices Up Significantly?

I'm a casual member of the Porsche Club of Ontario FB page (don't hate me...).

A fellow there posted as follows:

"If someone is out buying new Porsche, bad news...porsche prices as of this evening, and it's not a small jump like last year. I am seeing $7K jump or so across the board"

Anyone here shopping for new? I just sold my 2007 Turbo - maybe I should ask the buyer for a "Porsche New Car Benchmark Premium"

HUUUGE bump. I just configured a gt3 for giggles, I don't remember exactly what the price was a month ago but it was well below 300k with PTS colour. Now it's like the price jumped 30k in a day.
and the price had already jumped from last year before that... well I'll keep my car it seems. 1st world problems. Still it's disappointing, Porsche 911 used to be an attainable dream for most upper middle-class fanatics,
not so much anymore, they've become like Ferrari albeit still cheaper. Not so long ago you could get a fully loaded 997 4S for about 120-130k canadian, those days are long gone. I don't think you can get one out for less than 200k these days.

The canadian configurator now calculates Trudeau's luxury tax and some other fees in the overall price. Ouch. And on top of that our local dealer is now asking for even more options on the car in order to get an allocation. What I've been told lately is $22k for Cayennes, $17k for Macans and $35k for 911s... I'm done with Porsche, at least the new ones, for a while.

I just made a post about this as well. Pretty frustrating when the used market is just as fu ked when you see 2020 992 base with 143k msrp priced at 180k.

Why not when people are lining up at the door to buy these things.

The $9,500 base increase is in Canada before taxes. Option prices remained the same as 2023.

I just extended my Macan S lease. if things are still the same 3 years from now, I'm moving on too. I wanted to replace the Macan with a lightly optioned base Carrera as my daily, but at $175k out the door, I'm not interested.

As someone else stated, the configurator now includes the lux tax.

Still a substantial price increase.

I am fortunate enough to have a 2023 C2s incoming which I avoided the luxury tax on.

If I had to pay the lux tax and with the new price increase the delta is approx. 30K!!

Lucky man! My delta is now ibout 45k since deposit and still no allocation. 😡😡😡

The joke I find is they have taken the price increases and lux tax and rolled that delta into the used market inflating prices artificially.
I realize there is a supply and demand proponent to this but when there are over 200 used 992 sitting on dealer lots. I will roll my eyes all day long

I think a large portion of buyers were lining up at the door not cause of the driving experience solely, but because you could drive these cars and then sell them after and get your money back (or most of your money back). With the price hikes, luxury tax, interest rates, mandatory options, etc in effect, I think a large portion of these buyers will drop out of the line. You'll soon be left with enthusiasts who know better than to spend $200k on a base Carrera.

Yes, the Carrera S has now become a $215K - 230K car out the door.

But in the same sense people are buying Ford pickup trucks for over $100K.

I guess Porsche figures as of late, why should the dealers have all the fun?
