Curious for those who spontaneously take the car out when it’s a nice day during this time, do you:
1. Immediately resume your insurance
2. Just drive it with insurance still on suspend
3. Never suspend the car
I never suspend the insurance for the car. The insurance I am paying for the 911 now is comparatively so 'inexpensive' that I don't mind carrying it over 12 months, just in case the weather is nice in December or feb/march that I can just take the car out for a spin.
The insurance on my 911 is by far the cheapest I have ever paid for car insurance, if that is even possible. I am paying more for my dad's old Corolla than my own car.
Took her out Sunday for its first good run , for a 45 year old car thats been sitting for 5 months in a barn it performed flawlessly, didnt miss a beat. even the tire pressures required zero adjustment. You would think i had been driving it non stop. Im out for another good run tonight to use the rest of the stabilized storage gas, then away for a few days as we have rain coming.
On a somewhat related note i have seen 3 vehicles in a week being pulled onto flatbeds for " non compliance " i didn't want to talk to the guys as they were NOT in good moods obviously , but first guy was for Noise im pretty sure ( i could kind tell as he started it to drive it behind the tow truck and holy crap , his BMW did NOT leave the factory like that)
The other two were caught by Region of Waterloo inspection trucks and were towed away , not sure why. As they were parked when i got there
I saved around $500. Beer and groceries for a few weeks. Not nothing
I don't think you're eating or drinking enough :-) At $4 a can for a decent IPA and the price of groceries I'm thinking that's more of a one week'ish budget!!!

news flash. there is no such thing as a decent IPA.
I too had my car out the last few days for a little spin up the DVP ........and the roads here are way worse this year here than last year , I was deeking out potholes left right and center .... To find roads this bad a decade or two ago you would need to drive to Buffalo ..Now Buffalo has decent roads and ours are **** poor .. World class city I think not. Anyway I always like this time of year.... its a nice pick me up driving the car and getting more daylight.

I suspend road coverage as well... For me that's 5 months savings at about $150-200/month for taking the coverage off the Miata and Boxster. I have to play musical drivers as I have a 17yr old son and 20 yr old daughter under my policy. Son is itching to get the Miata out, and we are going to pick it up this weekend sometime.
