I never put mine away, but I gotta say the potholes are brutal right now. It’s like a gigantic slalom course in the GTA right now.

Another nice day for a drive. Went to the LCBO Summerhill to pick up the last of my 2019 Bordeaux futures. 6 cases fit in the 911, who says sports cars can’t be practical.

That is a great haul. Mind if I ask how long you will keep these in the cellar before you open the first ones?

hopefully a long time! Many of those will be good for 30+ years depending on how you want the wine to evolve. I also order Bordeaux futures and I hope you went as hard for 2020!! I skipped out on the reds for 2021 and went after the whites given the growing/harvesting season there.

The 'lesser' haut medoc Bordeauxs I'll drink them fairly soon while I wait for the big boys to come around, but most of the classified growth, I'll age them at least 10-15 years at least. I am just starting into drinking my 2000 & 2005 classified growths in the last couple of years.
A general rule of thumb I go with for drinking bordeaux's, is to drink them either young, within 1-5 years, or wait till they are at least 10-15 years of age. Most bordeaux's go through a 'dumb' phase during the 5-10 years in their lifecycle.

I didn't go too heavy into the 2020, as I went very heavy into the 2019, since the reviews were great and the 'reduced' pricing was very attractive. Also went heavy with 2018 and 2016, so had to control myself with the 2020. lol
I did do half case of Canon and Les Carmes Haut Brion, then a mix bags of mostly left banks. Total around 4-5 cases in 2020 future. By contrast, my 2019 futures order was I think 12-13 cases.

Did you go to the 2020 UGC event at the Carlu this year? I was out of town that week and missed it. I did attend the 2019 UGC event at the ROM, and they did not disappoint, Pichon Baron and Carmes Haut Brion were my wotn.

got an excellent pit window today, between the thunderstorms last night and the raining right now, we had a sunny morning, with dry roads so was able to get the car out of storage, take it for a good run , and get her safely home in the garage.. perfect. told Ferrari I am available if required.

Curious for those who spontaneously take the car out when it’s a nice day during this time, do you:

1. Immediately resume your insurance
2. Just drive it with insurance still on suspend
3. Never suspend the car
