Default Request recommendation for Porsche service garage

Recently repatriated back to Halton region. Before I left Canada (12 yrs ago), I took my M3 to Cross Avenue Auto. I was planning to take my now off-warranty 2018 911 c4gts to Sam. Discovered he closed shop. Aside from Mantis, requesting recommendations for service garages in the West-end that you members would trust with your Porsches. Thanks in advance.

I believe they didn't close, just moved to a bigger shop on the service road by Multi line.

Off the top of my head, there's Brett Hunter at Hunter Motorsports, Mantis, as you already listed, and European Automotive. I believe Porsche Centre Oakville has a performance shop separate from its dealership, but I don't recall the name. I'm sure there are others and the great folks here will chime in.

thanks. Can share address? Checked again online and their operations are referenced as closed. Also previously visited couple weeks ago and appeared closed.

European Automotive Oakville - Brad
Mantis Racing - Dirk

Sam @ Cross did sell the business to Polestar and move to the beach down south to retire - happy for him

I stopped using Mantis...they aren't as good as they once were. Highly recommend Brent at Hunter.

They *weren't* as good as they once were... now that Dirk and Jon own the business and Dirk does most of the more complex work himself, I wouldn't have any reservations about going back there.

I initially continued to go to Mantis after they purchased it. They had to take my car to another garage for a safety cert., because they ran out of cert books. I found that strange, but went back again. Service was slow but fine. Third time, I called and asked for a quote for a suspension refresh. Gave Hiego (I think that’s how you spell it) all of the specs and he said he would call back with some prices. Never heard from him again.

I emailed Brent, had a price in 15 minutes and the work was complete the following week. He even said that I could bring my own parts if I wanted and he’d just charge me to install. I’m a Hunter customer now.

I'm not trying to convince anyone but I wanted to put it out there that things have changed since your experience, Onami.

Heiko retired recently. And during the transition period, Dirk was running the show and was super responsive. They got me out of a super last minute bind last year when Porsche Centre North jerked me over so I will give Mantis credit where it is due. I tried Brett Hunter, who is awesome as always, but the timing simply didn't work out mutually for the both of us and he did his best to try to accommodate me.

I understand Mantis has sorted out their workflow and introduced some changes to the shop. Dirk and Jon have also brought on Jason Wing Quan who was the former Assistant Manager at Porsche Centre Oakville just recently to replace Heiko

I haven't taken my car to them since last year but so far, my e-mail exchanges with them have been great. They will be taking care of my vehicle for the 2023 track season.
