The end !
No follow up, no call backs, improper quotes and so on ...
A good ole recession fixes many things ...

I have been very happy the past 8 years with Mark Motors, didn't notice any drop off during covid.
Only thing I have to do with them is remind them to apply my 10% PCA member discount every visit.

Time to find a good indy? I know there are lots out there - no cappuccino machines but some good quality work being done at reasonable rates. I live N/E of the GTA but as a reference I had plugs/OEM coils, oil change and brake fluid change recently for a little north of $1k with the coils alone being $700.

Sure thing - I will check with him to confirm he is looking for more work. He is working out of his home (with a large shop, of course with a lift etc.). He spent a number of years with VW and did a fair amount of work on a friend's Cayenne which was who put me on to him. I supplied parts including oil but yes labour around $300 and next day service.

I find that is the story amongst most shops in the car industry, whether dealer or independent. Finding a good shop that does quality work with great communication is hard.

Difficult to generalize though. Depends on the dealership. I have had six Porsches (2x Cayenne, 1x. Panamera, 3x GT3RS) serviced from new at DFC and have never had a problem with them. I keep the same service rep for years at a time, they know the cars, easy to get an appointment.
I have had some very bad (and very good) experiences with dealers in other marques for sure.

As far as Downtown Porsche, I have a 2001 996 and did niot purchase it there. As a result of Ronan's recommendation. I brought it to DFC to prepare for a 10,000 Km road trip earlier this year. I found the attention to detail and the service to be superb. Indeed, a little more $$ than an Indy bu the Classic car discount helped. I use the same SA as Ronan, Peter Groenke. He is on top of things, a great communicator and was budget conscious as far as work to be performed.
