You've misunderstood my point. I am not saying that the gas you'll be getting will not contain 10% Ethanol. I am saying that the average Ethanol content someone sells across all types / grades has to contain 10% Ethanol, not each and every liter of any one specific type or grade they sell. If the pump sells other grades that contain more than 10% Ethanol, they can offset selling gas with less than 10% Ethanol so that the overall volume sold across all types / grades does not contain less than 10% Ethanol on average.

Se my earlier post (#6) in this thread for links to the relevant Ontario legislation (https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist...l#post18469226).

The reality is Shell or their operators haven't gotten around to it ....Lets face it to almost everyone except us enthusiasts could care less about some cut in their fuel. Like I had mentioned before ... Shell was excellent fuel in the 80's and Sunoco 94 was even better .... I use to put $500 a week back then just in my offshore race boat excluding my cars and bikes. Shell is still decent fuel but not what it used to be and the same goes for now Petro 94 and since both now have ethanol I will still continue to go with 94 over Shell as you may as well get the highest octane possible.

So PetroCan 94 is the best fuel available now? I noticed a drop in fuel economy now with Shell 91 with 10% ethanol...

Ethanol has less energy per volume than gasoline (about 30-40% less), so all other things being equal, 10% Ethanol content in gasoline would in theory result in an overall 3-4% mileage decrease. Some pumps are already switching to an even higher Ethanol content... so yes, expect a ~5% decrease in fuel economy... in addition to an overall increase in GHG emissions by about 30% as Ethanol production actually results in more CO2 pollution than burning gasoline, an increase in the cost of fuel as it costs more to make it than to extract and distill gas, and an increase in food prices because an ever increasing number of farmers are now growing (government subsidized) corn instead of food.

Interestingly, to add fuel to the fire, a gas station on the way to the cottage called Gen7 no longer has marine gas on their website. They used to sell no ethanol marine fuel....Bet you that is gone too. I'll check on next trip to cottage.

Anyone tried this new Shell V-Power NiTRO+? It doesn't appear to reduce ethanol content...

Oh wow! "The company says its V-Power Nitro+ road gasoline contains 99 per cent of the same compounds found in the racing fuel used in Ferrari cars on the F1 circuit." Really? We contain 99% of the same DNA that monkeys do... that says a lot about who this is targeted at.
It is 100% a marketing gimmick by Shell. There's absolutely nothing of any value to anyone (except Shell) here.

Would be interesting to see an updated test. I use Shell V power because it’s the nearest gas station and I get the CAA discount but could switch if there is some current benefit.
