Do you really need 700 hp?

^Roads in south of France are basically rally stages...
I find roads in Quebec City to be way better than Montreal, not sure why.

laughably low speed limits on highways. Outside of a few areas roads are mostly straight with tons of traffic lights or confused drivers. The little old lady who lives in some mountain side village is a better driver than most drivers in NA. I spend about 4-5weeks a year in the EU (was just in Southern France) and coming back home always an “adjustment”. Yea EU might have some horrendous traffic jams but the quality or driving and roads is light years ahead of NA.
yes roads are particularly crap in Quebec. Pavement? No! Not like Ontario is some driving paradise… “oh this road is fun” 50kph speed limit with a cop hiding behind the corner waiting for impound your car

Hahah Ontario is terrible too. I was just bugging. Hey come down and drive the QEW from Hamilton to St. Catharines....highway is now 110km/h!.... still doesn't change people doing 110 in the left lane.

We are allowed to drive 700hp cars because we all pay the Trudeau carbon tax which now addresses this issue.
I am all for the environment and I do own a Tesla also ....unfortunately I view the environment debate as a lot of political hogwash . Wither it's 1000 hp or 89hp does it make a difference when you are stuck idling in a single row of traffic along with 100 other cars because they now installed a bike lane along a major artery yet you can get a ticket if you idle in your drive for more than three minutes ?
Cars are the tip of the iceberg ...see below . It's industry and countries that are non compliant that are the big issue.

I don't know how someone living in a metro area could even come close to exercising a high horse power car. Living out in the middle of nowhere does have it's advantages. Take out sucks though......

Yes I realize there are more people in India than United States but India is for the most part a Third World country. If you want to be accurate then all of Europe should be counted as one country. Otherwise we should really be comparing Texas to France add California to Japan. Numbers like these are so deceiving meant to trip up people who don’t wanna look into it deeper or probably don’t care to because all they want is the topic and not the truth.
We have more people in Georgia, South Carolina and Florida than you do in Canada. So Canada is not on that list. Imagine that.

I did peep an SF90 once. The doors didn't fit right. I thought that was odd on such an expensive car. Maybe if this gets rebuilt the doors can be made to fit properly?

I started this thread after driving my 67hp Westfalia. I may be crazy, but I have another westfalia that I had shipped here to greece some years ago(wife has greek connection). This one is an 85 watercooled with 86 hp. I've now just spent a couple of weeks driving it around, including a 1100km trip and I have made some observations. Firstly, the extra 20 hp makes a huge improvement in drivability. Another is it only gets 12l/100km, so a 1100 km trip costs almost 300 Euros!!!
Yesterday I was out and about and I thought to go to the Alimos beach. Since the weather was great, even Fortwo drivers were not findng a place to park, so I gave up and left. You think of T3 westfalias as huge vehicles and not suitable to daily drive in eruope, but a quick check on the internet showed that a Porsche Cayenne has a footprint that is 1 foot longer and 6 inches wider. There are lots of these here. How do they deal with these conditions?

Nice list there. Of course it has nothing to do with the population of those countries right?

Canada is one of the worst CO2 global polluters on a per capita level (and the US isn't much better). India produces about 1/10th as much CO2 per capita as Canada does.

why the 'destroying the planet' addition? if you truly feel that way, sell all your current ice cars and go electric.
c'mon, that '83 Westy is destroying the planet way more than any current 700hp grocery getter. 76hp is an irrelevant figure.
this is not the crowd to get behind your 'destroying the planet' narrative. seems you can take care of that own your own. i hear the nissan leafs are rather sporty.
